Community Catalyst Gathering Series

Beanstalk’s Community Catalyst Gathering Series aims to empower underserved communities in Alabama. Through a series of hyperlocal gatherings and innovative community projects, we will provide training, resources, and support to community members, with a particular emphasis on BIPOC women and families.

A dynamic lineup including our ambitious 10,000 Disaster Preparedness Kits Service Project, Neighbor Dinners fostering dialogue, vibrant Community Picnics, and participatory budgeting for impactful local projects.

Climate change is real

The best thing we do currently is our gatherings!

During these gatherings, each community will build out the infrastructure & select leadership for their pod. Each gathering and pod will focus on a different aspect of community building and resilience, encouraging participation and collaboration among residents of all ages.

We are committed to empowering individuals and communities through comprehensive disaster relief, recovery training, agricultural support, home repair & energy retrofitting, and a green business incubator.

We enhance community support through place-making and capacity-building initiatives while actively developing and strengthening statewide resilience & workforce development centers lead by regional collaborative hub formations called pods.

Our Projects include

An interactive escape room designed to teach social-emotional learning (SEL) skills and promote teamwork and problem-solving.

A community-driven initiative to assemble and distribute disaster preparedness kits to families in need.

Interactive stations set up in community spaces to educate families on home energy efficiency and simple ways to save energy.

Informal gatherings to foster community connections, promote dialogue, and provide a support network for neighbors

A large-scale community event featuring a picnic and collaborative art projects that reflect community values and aspirations

A democratic process allowing community members to decide how to allocate part of the project budget to local initiatives.
