Our Story

Founded by passionate individuals from environmental justice (EJ) and frontline communities, Beanstalk addresses the shortcomings of organizations that failed to prioritize the needs and voices of marginalized communities.

Beanstalk builds resilience in frontline communities against storms, droughts, wildfires, heatwaves, and land loss. We work collaboratively to address the root causes of environmental injustice, creating authentic spaces for marginalized voices.

Ready To Lead a Pod?

We are igniting a movement!

Imagine vibrant hubs, led by dynamic BIPOC women, sparking community-based climate action and resilience. Through our immersive workshops, activities, and programs, we’ll train pod members to lead transformative efforts in their neighborhoods. In the next 3-5 years, we are setting our sights on establishing climate resilience centers—our "pods"—throughout Alabama and the Gulf South.

With a focus on community engagement and empowerment, they will consistently invite residents to #ClimbTheBeanstalk with us, building a resilient future, one pod at a time!
